, the popular BBC crime drama, may have concluded its 12th season, but fans are already eagerly anticipating the next instalment. The good news is that filming for season 13 is expected to commence later this year, reports .
Over the years, the show has seen a revolving door of cast members, including Nancy Carroll who portrayed Kembleford's aristocratic socialite, Lady Felicia Montague. The Cambridge-born actress was a regular on Father Brown from its inception in 2013 until the fourth season, after which she took a step back.
Did Lady Felicia Montague leave Father Brown? However, contrary to some speculation, Lady Felicia did not leave the show. From the fifth season onwards, her character had a reduced role due to her husband Monty (played by Alexander Hanson) becoming the Governor of Northern Rhodesia, thus spending less time in Kembleford.
Despite her reduced screen time, Lady Felicia remains an integral part of the series and even made appearances in a few episodes of the 12th season. Carroll recently shared some behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, showing her transformation into Lady Felicia.
She captioned the post: "Lady Felicia coming to you with the hair and makeup miracle working genius of @sue.woodbridge long time partner in crime and always full of joy patience and untiring brilliance, even in the early hours when faced with the grim realities of my 'pre coffee recently squashed into a pillow' state. Forever in awe of you! ! ! 12 YEARS! ! ! ! ! ! !"
"Always a joy to be in the company of the beautiful and glorious @claudieblakleyofficial in any capacity.
"Only love. And truck loads of gratitude #fatherbrownseries12 @bbciplayer [sic]."
In addition to her role on Father Brown, Carroll is a highly respected stage actress, with roles in productions such as Hamlet and The Cabinet Minister.
Since Father Brown, she has appeared in other screen projects including Dalgliesh, The Diplomat, The Crown, Stephen, The Marlowe Sessions and Murder in Provence.
Carroll is married to fellow actor Jo Stone-Fewings, and they have two children together, Nellie, 17, and Arthur, 13.
Stone-Fewings, 58, is best known for his roles in The Hollow Crown, The Crown, Trust and Survive.
Their romance could easily be the plot of a drama, as they got engaged just nine days after meeting.
The couple met while working on Michael Wood's television film In Search of Shakespeare, produced in collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and were married in 2003.
Back in 2015, What's On Stage revealed the couple's adorable commitment to see each other at least once every two weeks.
Recently, Carroll honoured their bond on Instagram with a charming selfie alongside her husband, adorably captioned: "Thank my lucky stars for this valentine every day of week. Happy love-in-every-form day! ! ! #happyvalentinesday #loveineveryform #loveday [sic]."
