Tamil actress Shruthi Narayanan has broken her silence over the controversy surrounding an alleged casting couch sex video that has been widely circulated on social media. Taking to Instagram, she expressed her anguish over the situation, slamming those who have been spreading the content and making insensitive remarks.

In her emotional post, Shruthi wrote, "For you guys, spreading all these contents on me it's just a joke and fun content. But for me and my close ones, this is a very hard situation for us. Especially for me, it is a very difficult time, and it's a difficult situation to handle. I'm also a girl, and I also have feelings, and my close ones also have feelings, and you guys just make it worse and worse."

Urging netizens to stop sharing the alleged videos, Shruthi added, "I humbly request you all to not spread everything like wildfire. And if you insist on watching such videos, go see them for your mother or sister or girlfriend, because they are also girls and they also have the same bodies like me, so go and enjoy their videos."

In another story, she also stated that sharing deepfake videos is a criminal offence in India. Shruthi also shared the provisions under which legal action can be taken against those who spread the videos.

Take a look at her post here:

Her statement comes after several media reports claimed that the leaked video was from a private audition. The clip, which allegedly shows a topless woman, has been questioned by netizens, with many speculating that it might be an AI-generated deepfake.

On March 27, Shruthi posted for the first time since the controversy began but disabled the comments section. She also shared a reel demonstrating AI's ability to create clones, seemingly hinting at the possibility of manipulation in the viral video.

Initially, Shruthi had made her Instagram account private, limiting access to her posts to just 40,000 approved followers. However, she has now switched it back to public.

The actress, best known for her role as Vidhya in the Tamil TV series Siragadikka Aasai, has also received support from her fans and colleagues.
