New Delhi: Barkha Bisht is finally breaking her silence on what went down in her 14-year marriage with Indraneil Sengupta. Three years after their separation, the actress got candid about the emotional rollercoaster she had endured and acknowledged that infidelity played a major role in their split.

In a heartfelt conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Barkha revealed that Indraneil was the one who chose to walk away. “It was his choice to move out of the marriage. If it were up to me, I would still be married,” she confessed. The revelation feels like something straight out of a heartbreak anthem, only this one isn’t fiction.

For years, speculation surrounded Indraneil’s alleged affair with Bengali actress Ishaa Saha.

Despite knowing about the betrayal, Barkha tried to make things work. “I always believed I would walk out of a marriage if I was cheated on. But when it actually happens, you realise it’s easier said than done,” she admitted. “I have no shame in saying I would have forgiven him. I even tried to save my marriage for two years.”

Divorce is never easy, but for Barkha, it was physically painful. “When they say heartbreak, it’s real. It feels like physical pain,” she shared. “My belief in humanity broke at that time, not my faith in marriage or love. And it’s still somewhat broken.” For someone who once believed in forever, the betrayal hit deep. “The worst thing you can do to a woman is break her trust. Betrayal is something she cannot take,” she added.
