Washington, DC [US], — According to Deadline, Chris Coy, star of “Treme” and “The Walking Dead,” has joined the cast of HBO’s new drama series “Lanterns,” which is based on the Green Lantern DC comic.

Coy will portray the new character of ‘Waylon Sanders,’ a frightened truck driver or smart survivalist, in a guest-starring role. According to the source, he is unconstrained by the rules of nature, although his age and true name remain unknown.

Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, and Nathan Fillion are among the previously revealed cast members that the actor now joins.

The Deadline claims that the show, which stars Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, centers on Lantern icon Hal Jordan (Chandler) and new recruit John Stewart (Pierre).

As they look into a murder in the American heartland, two interplanetary police officers get entangled in a sinister, Earth-based mystery.

In collaboration with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, HBO produces the eight-episode television series Lanterns.

James Hawes is the director and producer of the drama series, according to the site. The TV show’s episodes will also be directed by filmmakers Alik Sakharov, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Stephen Williams.

Following his series regular role alongside Jason Bateman and Jude Law in the Netflix limited series Black Rabbit, Coy will next be seen supporting Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor in Bad Robot’s forthcoming Flowevale Street, according to Deadline.

David Oyelowo’s Bass Reeves, the Amazon series “The Peripheral,” and the Billy Porter-directed episode of Fox’s Accused are among Coy’s acting credits.

According to Deadline, the actress was a series regular for David Simon alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal on HBO’s The Deuce and has previously played in the ABC miniseries Women of the Movement.
