Authorities have put in place traffic diversions that will disrupt roads via Kadapa from 9 am today to 10 am tomorrow in preparation for the Sitarama Kalyanotsavam that will be held in Vontimitta. In order to avoid using the traditional route via the Irkan and Ootukuru junctions near Alamkhan Palle village, vehicles heading from Kadapa to Tirupati will be rerouted via Rayachoti. In the meanwhile, the Rayachoti route is also required for those travelling from Tirupati to Kadapa. Similarly, heavy trucks headed for Kadapa from Rajampet have been rerouted.
Two-wheelers from Salabad have also been redirected via Ibrahimpet and Madhavaram. Authorities have set aside parking spots at five points in Salabad and thirteen along the Kadapa road to handle the flood of pilgrims. Two-wheelers and RTC buses from Kadapa must stop at the Upparapalle Sai Baba Temple in Siddavatam mandal, while those from Rajampet must stop at Salabad Cross in Ontimitta mandal. From these locations, complimentary shuttle buses will be offered to the wedding location.
In accordance with the full moon, Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy’s wedding ceremony is set for Friday night from 6:30 to 8:30. For this magnificent event, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and the YSR District Administration have prepared a number of elaborate preparations. The venue has been exquisitely furnished to hold up to one lakh spectators for the live watching of the Sita Ram wedding, and the TTD intends to give out one lakh pearl talambah packs to guests.
On behalf of the government, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is anticipated to attend the event. He will arrive in Ontimitta at 5 p.m. to distribute traditional silk outfits and pearl talambras. Both devotees and the local community are expected to find the event to be a major highlight.
