Tanupreet and Jaspreet, two gamers from Meerut, started as casual teammates in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). They met through random matches, gradually playing together more often. Their bond strengthened as they teamed up daily, leading to a deeper connection beyond the game.
Through in-game features like “Synergy,” their closeness became visible. As they continued playing, exchanging in-game gifts, and teaming up regularly, their profiles unlocked the “Lovers” tag — an in-game label signifying a strong personal bond. Eventually, their connection extended offline. They began chatting outside BGMI, met in person, and decided to get married.
Krafton Hosts First-of-Its-Kind Digital Wedding
In a unique gesture, BGMI developer Krafton organized a virtual wedding for the couple within the game itself. The event was modeled after a traditional Indian wedding, including ceremonies like mehendi and sangeet. The battlegrounds turned into wedding venues, with special in-game outfits designed by fashion designer Ritu Beri and a performance by singer Benny Dayal.
The entire event was showcased in a video released on April 11 via BGMI’s official Instagram. The video captured their journey — from meeting in-game to the final wedding ceremony, featuring their squad and emotional moments.
Shaadi Duo Event: Celebrate Your Bond In-Game
Inspired by Tanupreet and Jaspreet’s story, BGMI launched a new in-game event called “Shaadi Duo.” The event encourages players to celebrate their in-game partnerships, whether romantic or friendly. Players can team up, complete challenges, and unlock exclusive rewards.
This story highlights a growing trend where games like BGMI are more than entertainment—they’re spaces for real connections. While the tale of Seema Haider and Sachin Meena (a couple who met via PUBG) brought headlines and controversy, this BGMI love story offers a positive and heartwarming twist.
