Paddy Pimblett is preparing for the biggest fight of his career, taking on Michael Chandler at UFC 314, the man was scheduled to face. An injury to the Irishman meant that Pimblett, who has won all six of his professional bouts, stepped in with an eye on moving into title contention.

Liverpudlian Pimblett is aiming to prove that he belongs among the top lightweights in the UFC, returning to the stage for the first time since his first-round submission of King Green in Manchester last summer. Pimblett-Chandler is the co-main event of the evening and is the penultimate contest before Alexander Volkanovski attempts to win his title back from Diego Lopez.

Chandler is a contentious figure in the cage and Pimblett did threaten to bite his finger off if any rules were bent during their match.

Dustin Poirier was angered after Chandler was accused of fishhooking him and grabbed Poirier's glove during their 2022 contest, while repeated hits to the back of Charles Oliveira's head last year landed Chandler in hot water.

"Poirier said he tried to fishhook him to get the choke and stuff like that," Pimblett told ESPN. "I'll do the same thing as Poirier. If that happens, I'll bite his finger and try and cut it off with my teeth. Like, it's one of them. But I always say, if you're not cheating, you're not trying!"

What time does the fight start?

The fight takes place in the early hours of Sunday, April 13, at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, Florida.

Due to the clash being held Stateside, those watching in the United Kingdom face a late night in anticipation for Pimblett.

The preliminary action is scheduled to get underway at around 10pm UK time, with Pimblett vs Chandler expected to begin at approximately 3am.
