With the new financial year in full swing, there are several appointments to make and errands to tick off the list. From tax planning to investment ideas, there is a flurry of things to do. Amidst the chaos, it might be better to keep a tab of the scheduled bank holidays for the month so that we can complete our banking errands without any inconvenience.

The month of April has 16 overall holidays set to be observed by banks across the country. These holidays are decided by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The official bank holiday list is released by the central bank and this annual calendar includes public holidays, regional observances, and regular weekend closures. While it's usually released well in advance, last-minute updates may still occur, so it’s wise to stay informed through the RBI’s official website.

However, even when brick-and-mortar branches are closed, digital services remain active. Customers can continue to use internet banking, mobile apps, and ATMs without interruption.

Are Banks Open Or Closed On April 14?

April 14 marks the celebration of multiple regional and cultural festivals across India—Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Vishu, Bohag Bihu, Tamil New Year’s Day, and more. Falling on a Monday this year, these overlapping holidays mean that banks in many states will remain shut. This also means a long weekend for bank employees. Therefore, for those planning in-person visits for transactions, document updates, or account-related services, rescheduling may be necessary to avoid inconvenience.

To see the exact regions that will be impacted by tomorrow's holiday, let's take a look at the bank holidays list for the rest of the month.
