Wind Breaker Season 2 is proving itself to be as sensational as the first season. Now, Season 2 being two episodes down, we have seen many characters in the anime. From the saviours of Bofurin to the delinquents of Shishitoren and the members of the KEEL Gang as well. But, one character that has all our attention is Hajime Umemiya , the leader of Bofurin. Now, Umemiya could be dubbed one of the strongest characters from the show.
And his journey from a suicidal teenager to a Bofurin leader is nothing less than inspiring. The manga already has a dedicated Umemiya's Backstory Arc spanning from chapter 85 to chapter 97. However, if you want to know everything right now and are not scared of spoilers then here we have penned down his journey.
Haji Umemiya: The creator of Bofurin
The early life of Haji Umemiya was tragic as he lost his father and a pregnant mother in an accident when he was just nine years old. After that, the boy grew up in a foster care system before finally landing at the Furinen Orphanage in Makochi.
He used to live in guilt of his family's death which resulted in depression and immense stress. And finally, he decides to give up on his life by indulging in gang violence with the hope of getting killed.
But, he was saved by a third-year student who also changed his perspective from guilt to satisfaction when he finally realized that the last moments of his parents were possibly happy that they saved him.
After the healing, Umemiya changed the basic nature of Furin High - from being a ground of war to Bougyu Furin or Defense Furin or Bofurin (as we know in the anime). And he created all this with blood, sweat, and battles (where necessary). This is how Bofurin came into existence and we got the most humble yet fierce leader, Hajime Umemiya, of all time.
