According to police on Saturday, the son of deceased underworld don and pro-Kannada organization founder N. Muthappa Rai was shot at by unknown gunmen close to his home in Bidadi, Ramanagara district.

According to them, Ricky Rai, the victim, was taken to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for further care.

He was driving from Bidadi to Bengaluru when the event occurred, which happened late Friday night, between 1 and 1:30 am, close to his home.

When a bullet hit the car, several unnamed individuals reportedly started shooting, according to the police. He and his gunner were in the backseat. Both the driver and Rai were hurt when the bullet went through the driver’s seat.

The police arrived to the scene after receiving the information and surrounded the area with cordons. A complaint has been filed, and attempts are being made to apprehend the culprits, the authorities noted.
