Former soap actress Vicky Entwistle has opened up about returning to the stage in Blackpool in a critically acclaimed family drama, Living the Life of Riley. Vicky, who is best known for her iconic role as Janice Battersby in Coronation Street, has shared how "enriching the job" is and that "if it's the last thing she does", she'll be happy. Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, Vicky uploaded a photo of the stage drama poster and a screenshot of the performance dates. She wrote: "Often you take a job that hurts, for the money... Rarely do you find a job that enriches you. This piece is so beautiful. If it's the last thing I do I'll be happy."

Vicky also stars alongside Leah Bell, Paul Dunn, and Alison Stanley. The stage drama received five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is now on tour around the UK.

In another tweet, Vicky also opened up on her financial situation, commenting: "I'm not a billionaire or a trillionaire, I'm just comfy. That said, when my pensions kick in I'm out of here! Anyone with half a brain would do the same. This country is drowning in its own friendliness!"

Vicky hinted that she would move from the UK, and many of her followers also responded to her tweet. One person asked: "Can you take Keir Starmer with you?" To which she replied: "He's the one I'm running away from," with laughing face emojis.

The 56-year-old became a household name in 1996 when she played loud-mouthed Janice Battersby on the ITV soap. Born in Lancashire, she starred as Janice for 15 years before leaving to focus on her stage career.

Janice is the mum of Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and stepmother to Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), who she had with Les Battersby (Bruce Jones).

Since leaving Corrie, Vicky has starred in several stage productions, including East Is East, Blackpool's adaptation of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, and Les Misérables, where she played Madame Thenardier in the West End.

Vicky also starred in the BBC's daytime programme Father Brown and, in 2013, reappeared on television for the 12th season of Celebrity Big Brother.
