Actress Kelly Fu recently visited Malaysia and sampled some of the country’s local specialties, including durians, known as the “King of Fruits.”

Fu reportedly consumed 12 durians in one sitting, according to The Star newspaper.

This was her first visit to Malaysia, and she was eager to try the famous durians.

Her companion, Owen Cheung, humorously shared that he was “forced to taste a bite” as well.

In addition to durian, Fu enjoyed ikan bakar (grilled fish) with sambal and rice. She also tried patin fish with sambal sauce for the first time.

“It’s so fragrant, even more fragrant than XO sauce, and it goes really well with rice,” she said, as quoted by Sinchew News.

A fan of spicy food, Fu mentioned that she bought jars of sambal as souvenirs and joked, “I ate so much I grew a size.”

Malaysia is renowned for its durians, especially the Musang King variety.

The durian season in Malaysia typically begins in June or July and lasts until September. The country has organized all-you-can-eat durian buffets during the peak summer season in recent years.

Kelly Fu, 40, is known for her roles in “Infernal Affairs II” (2003), “Fairy Tale Killer” (2012), and “Love Is the Only Answer” (2011).
