This season, celebrations go beyond the plate as hotels across India blend food, art, and tradition into immersive cultural experiences. From Amadeo’s interactive Counter Collection to ITC Maurya’s museum-worthy art walks and the festive flavours of Onam Sadhyas, these destinations are redefining how we celebrate.
AMADEO by Oberoi, the award-winning independent restaurant from The Oberoi Group, will present a three-day pop-up at Threesixty, The Oberoi, New Delhi, from 4th to 7th September 2025. As part of the hotel’s 60th anniversary celebrations, the pop-up will showcase The Counter Collection, featuring Japanese, Chinese, European, and Indian cuisines through interactive dining counters. The menu, curated by Executive Chef Kayzad Sadri, brings together highlights such as Lobster Risotto, Hamachi Usuzukuri, Truffle Tadka Dahi Kebab, and Mango & Coconut Tres Leches. Amadeo, located at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, is known for its philosophy of blending authentic flavours with modern interpretations. This collaboration offers guests in Delhi a rare opportunity to experience the restaurant’s distinctive culinary craftsmanship.
ITC Maurya is celebrated not only for its acclaimed restaurants such as Dum Pukht and Bukhara, but also for the remarkable art that adorns its spaces, created by some of India’s most renowned painters and sculptors. This September, art lovers are invited to enjoy a double treat—alongside its culinary excellence, the hotel offers the experience of 'The Museum Hotel'. In the centenary year of Krishen Khanna, Tyeb Mehta, and Satish Gujral, guests can explore Khanna’s iconic mural The Great Procession and view the WelcomArt collection featuring works by Mehta, Gujral, M. F. Husain, Meera Mukherjee, and Akbar Padamsee. The initiative reflects ITC’s ethos of Responsible Luxury, where heritage and hospitality come together. The curated walk will be held on 17 and 19 September 2025, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, by invitation only.
Varq at Taj Mahal, New Delhi will mark Onam with a specially curated Sadhya from 3 to 5 September 2025. The menu includes traditional dishes such as rasam, upperi, vendakkai khichdi, and red pumpkin erussery, served in the festive Kerala style. Prepared by the restaurant’s chefs, the spread reflects authentic recipes presented with Varq’s refined touch. Guests can enjoy the thali in an elegant setting that blends Kerala’s traditions with Taj’s hospitality.
Pride Plaza Aerocity will mark Onam with a Sadya Food Festival from 4 to 7 September, curated by celebrity chef Rekha Raghavan. The menu will feature more than 25 vegetarian dishes, served on banana leaves in the traditional Kerala style. Highlights include Upperi, Inji Curry, Avial, Kootu Curry, Pullishery, and Payasam, reflecting the flavours of the festival. Chef Raghavan notes that these recipes are drawn from her family traditions, making the celebration a personal tribute to Onam.
Grand Hyatt Mumbai will celebrate the festival of Onam with a traditional Sadya at Fifty Five East. The feast will feature over 25 vegetarian dishes, served on banana leaves in keeping with Kerala customs. Classics such as Aviyal, Kootu Curry, Olan, Pulissery, and Inji Puli will be part of the spread, along with an array of pickles, papadam, and banana chips. The meal concludes with traditional sweets including Parippu Pradhaman, Pal Payasam, and Unniappam. The Onam Sadya is scheduled for Friday, 5 September 2025, from 12:30 pm, priced at INR 4000 plus taxes per person.
JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa will host an Onam brunch at The Aviary on Sunday, 7 September 2025. The menu takes inspiration from the traditional Onam Sadhya, featuring dishes like rice, parippu, avial, erissery, kootu curry, and sambharam, alongside contemporary beverages. Live music, children’s activities, and festive décor will add to the celebratory atmosphere. The brunch runs from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm and is designed as a family-friendly gathering that blends Kerala’s traditions with a relaxed resort setting.
