Former Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is firmly cementing his place in the music industry. The Colombian has built on his 2025 breakthrough by appearing in a new music video alongside Latin music sensation Silvestre Dangond.

Diaz, who departed Anfield for Bayern Munich in a £65.5million deal last summer, has gradually ramped up his musical pursuits in recent years. Back in 2024, he featured on Ryan Castro's track, 'El ritmo que nos une', delivering several verses himself.

The South American subsequently made his bow as lead vocalist on 'La Promesa' (The Promise), which dropped at the close of 2025. Now he's ventured even further by starring in the video for Dangond's new single, 'Ganas de tenerla'.

The official clip chronicles a young boy dreaming of football stardom, dancing through streets decorated with flags from around the globe. Diaz and Dangond then appear, demonstrating their own footwork on a football pitch.

Diaz, 29, doesn't showcase his singing talents this time around, but supporters are bound to enjoy the visual spectacle regardless. Despite his ongoing achievements on the pitch, the Premier League champion previously expressed what his musical exploration signifies to him following the release of his debut track.

"Many people know me for football, but today I want you to get to know another side of me," he said at the time. "Music is one of my hobbies and a way for me to express myself from the heart, something I do with great affection and respect for the art."

The music video for La Promesa features footage of Diaz in action throughout his career with Barranquilla FC, Porto, Liverpool and Bayern. And it seems certain supporters will be treated to more releases from the winger in time.

Following 64 direct goal contributions (41 goals, 23 assists) across 148 matches for Liverpool, plenty of fans lamented Diaz's departure last summer. That said, the transfer was also considered sound business for a player who had less than two years remaining on his deal.

The switch to Bavaria has proved a resounding triumph for both him and Bayern thus far, aside from an unfortunate red card in the Champions League. Diaz has found the net 18 times and provided 14 assists in his opening 30 outings for the club, with Die Roten overwhelming favourites to defend their Bundesliga crown.

Diaz's most recent standout performance arrived during Sunday's 5-1 thrashing of high-flying Hoffenheim. Remarkably, Diaz contributed to all five of his team's goals, bagging a hat-trick alongside his two assists.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany is a huge admirer of the forward's knack for conjuring magic from mayhem, saying in November: "Lucho has got a kind of 'chaotic creativity'. He can always do something in chaos.

"As a defender, I always found it uncomfortable to play against such players because you never know whether you have the ball under control or he has it."
