Rohit Sharma became the first batter to score 6000 runs for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, reaching the landmark during Match 20 of IPL 2026 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Chasing 241, Rohit needed six to the milestone and got there in trademark fashion, pulling Jacob Duffy over the ropes on the fifth ball of the third over.

The shot took him from 5996 to 6002 in his 231st IPL appearance for the five-time champions, further extending his lead as Mumbai’s highest run-scorer in the league.

However, his innings ended at 19 runs after he decided to retire himself out after blocking a ball from Rasikh Salam. His innings included two boundaries and 1 six.

Milestone widens Rohit’s gap at the top
