GB News paused their live coverage for a royal update. During Saturday's coverage host Will Kingston spoke to editor-at-large for the Mail on Sunday, Charlotte Griffiths, as they reacted to Tom Bower's claim about the future king. In a one-word bombshell it's been suggested Prince William will "ban" his brother Prince Harry from his future coronation.
Harry and Meghan Markle married in 2018 and stepped down as senior royals two years later. The royal biographer recently released his new book, Betrayal, about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. A spokesperson for the couple said Bower had "long crossed the line from criticism into fixation".
They said in a recent statement: "This is someone who has publicly stated, 'the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,' language that speaks for itself. He has made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met. Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him."
The book touches on topics including Harry and Meghan's relationship with Prince William and Princess Catherine.
GB News presenter asked his show guest about the substance of the claims Harry will not be invited to attend his brother's Coronation when the time comes.
"I think it's very likely William is going to exclude his brother from his Coronation," Charlotte replied. "People are beginning to speculate what William will do when he becomes King."
She continued: "I think the first thing he will do is exclude his brother from the line of succession. Probably take away his titles and from the actual day of the Coronation."
Addressing the brother's fraught relationship, Charlotte claimed the move could be "driven by fear" after the Oprah interview alongside Meghan and Harry's book Spare.
She suggested William may be concerned that with the duke in attendance of royal festivities, moments may be documented.
"It could end up in a book, or another Oprah interview or any other reality series," Charlotte remarked.
She went on: "We know he has done his Netflix series with Meghan in the past. [Harry] being there in the congregation of any royal service will create such an amount of tension among the rest of the Royal Family. Especially, if Meghan were to be present it won't be worth having him there at all."
It comes after the Daily Telegraph reported author Hugo Vickers had claimed the late Queen worried about having face-to-face conversations with Harry and Meghan for fear of leaks.
Elsewhere, the Sussexes arrived at Netflix's Beef Season 2 Montecit Tastemaker event in their hometown, California.
The couple were snapped gleaming, standing next to Netflix co-chief Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant.
