On the day of the release of South cinema superstar Suriya and actress Trisha Krishnan’s most awaited film ‘Karuppu’, a disappointing news has come to the fore for the fans. Despite getting approval from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay for a special screening of the film, the makers have decided to cancel the 9 am show of the film at the last moment. After this announcement, there is disappointment among the fans waiting outside the theatres.

Why were the morning shows of ‘Karuppu’ cancelled?

The film’s producer SR Prabhu (Dream Warrior Pictures) confirmed the news by sharing a post on social media. He wrote, “Due to some unavoidable reasons the 9 am show of ‘Karuppu’ has been cancelled. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.” According to industry sources, the makers of the film are facing some technical and financial challenges, to resolve which talks were going on since Wednesday night, but no concrete result could be achieved till morning.

Director RJ Balaji expressed hope

The film’s director RJ Balaji has also shared an emotional post and appealed to the fans to maintain patience. He said, “‘Karuppu’ has faced many challenges in the last 32 months. Given the current situation, I don’t have any answers at the moment, but I am confident that ‘Karuppu Swamy’ will overcome these hurdles and the film will be on the big screen soon.”

Theater owners gave information regarding booking

Nikhilesh Surya of Chennai’s famous ‘Rohini Silver Screen’ told that a call had come from the distribution team to stop the booking. However, he also clarified that bookings will be resumed as soon as the issues are resolved. If the movie starts with an afternoon or evening show, the booking made in advance will remain valid. Currently, fans are waiting for the new timing of the film.

‘Karuppu’ is full of action and courtroom drama

Directed by RJ Balaji, the film is a high-voltage action drama. In the film, Suriya plays the role of a man who fights his enemies inside and outside the court for justice. Whereas, Trisha Krishnan has played the role of a lawyer named ‘Preeti’. Apart from Surya and Trisha, actors like Indrans, Swasika and Shivda will also be seen in important roles in the film. The music of the film is given by Sai Abhyankar, while the cinematography is by G. Of. It is of Vishnu.
