Chhattisgarh:- The state government has taken an important decision regarding the employees of National Health Mission (NHM). The government has approved an MoU with Bank of India, under which free insurance cover of ₹6 lakh will be provided to NHM employees maintaining salary accounts with the bank.

In fact, the government has given permission to sign an MOU with Bank of India, under which free life insurance cover of ₹ 6 lakh will be given to those NHM officers and employees who have their salary accounts with Bank of India. The Health Department has made it clear that this arrangement will not impose any additional financial burden on the state government or the National Health Mission.

The objective of this scheme is to provide financial security to healthcare workers and their families. If an employee dies under normal circumstances, his/her nominated family member will receive a sum assured of ₹6 lakh. This will provide financial support to the families of the employees in difficult times.

Will get free insurance cover of Rs 6 lakh
The most special thing about this scheme is that to avail its benefits, employees do not have to pay any premium from their own pocket. It is completely free. All those employees of NHM who have salary account in Bank of India will be eligible for this free insurance coverage. Apart from this, the terms and conditions of the insurance are so practical that the entire sum assured of ₹ 6 lakh will be given to the employee’s family or nominee not only in the event of an accident but also in case of natural death.
