How was the result after the transplant?

Liver and kidney were working well
According to the researchers, within 19 hours of the transplant, the pig’s liver started releasing bile and there were signs of it functioning normally. Creatinine and urea levels in the patient’s body were earlier increased due to kidney disease. It returned to normal levels after both kidneys were transplanted. This indicated that the transplanted kidneys were also functioning. This led doctors to conclude that genetically modified pig organs may be capable of performing important biological functions in the human body.
More testing necessary before reaching living patients
According to experts, more studies are needed on brain dead individuals and living monkeys before using this technology on humans. It is also necessary to ensure that no viruses or bacteria reach humans through pig organs. The shortage of transplantable human organs worldwide has long been a major health challenge. Many patients remain on waiting lists for years. In such a situation, new technology has raised hopes among many people.
