Prakash Raj’s legal troubles increased

Famous actor Prakash Raj is in the headlines these days due to his controversies. Recently, he held a press conference to express his views on a matter to Dharmasthala temple. But even before this dispute can be resolved, he is facing a new legal problem. A Bengaluru magistrate court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him. This matter came to light when he was accused of getting voter ID cards made in many states and despite receiving repeated summons, he did not appear in the court.

Strict action of the court

The 48th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Bengaluru has taken this drastic step against Prakash Raj. The court clarified that he had been repeatedly sent legal summons, directing him to appear before the court. But neither did he appear in person nor did he respond to the summons. Taking serious note of the situation, the magistrate issued a non-bailable warrant against him. Due to this warrant, questions may also be raised on his citizenship registration status.

History of controversy

The case dates back to 2019, when lawyer Dilip Kumar filed a complaint against Prakash Raj at Halsur Gate police station in Bengaluru. The complaint alleged that Prakash Raj was registered as a voter in four states at the same time – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the rules of the Election Commission of India, a citizen has the right to have his name in the voter list in only one constituency at a time. However, Prakash Raj has denied these allegations and said that he only exercises his voting rights in Tamil Nadu.

Prakash Raj’s name also recently came up in the ‘Dharmasthal temple controversy’. One person, CN Chinnayaka, had made serious allegations regarding the temple, including cases of murder and burial. Chinnayak filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court, in which he also named Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj, while talking to the media on this issue, said that he had given the information as a responsible citizen. Now Chinnayak claims that he was used as a pawn in a bigger conspiracy.
