The Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Delhi's electoral rolls is currently underway, and eligible voters have been asked to submit their Enumeration Form before the prescribed deadline. The exercise aims to verify voter records and ensure that the electoral roll remains accurate and up to date. Voters can submit the completed form to their local Booth Level Officer (BLO), and the current submission deadline is July 29, 2026.

If you are a registered voter in Delhi but your name was not part of the 2002 electoral roll, you can still complete the process by following the prescribed procedure. Here's what you need to know.

What Is the SIR Exercise?

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is an electoral verification drive conducted by the Election Commission to update voter records across Delhi. During the exercise, BLOs are distributing pre-filled Enumeration Forms to existing electors through door-to-door visits. Eligible voters are required to verify their details, make corrections where necessary, and submit the signed form within the notified timeline.

If a voter has not received the form at home, it can also be downloaded online or obtained from the concerned BLO.

Information Already Printed on the Form

Many voter details are expected to be pre-filled on the Enumeration Form, including:

  • Voter's name.

  • EPIC (Voter ID) number.

  • Residential address.

  • Photograph.

  • Assembly constituency.

  • Parliamentary constituency.

Applicants should carefully review these details and correct any errors before submission.

If Your Name Appeared in the 2002 Electoral Roll

Voters whose names were included in Delhi's electoral rolls prepared between 2002 and 2005 should complete the relevant section of the Enumeration Form using those historical voter details.

Individuals who were registered as voters in another state during that period should provide the corresponding electoral roll information from that state, wherever applicable.

What If Your Name Was Not in the 2002 Electoral Roll?

If your name did not appear in the 2002 voter list, you are not automatically disqualified from completing the verification process.

According to the guidance issued for the SIR exercise, eligible applicants may provide the electoral details of an immediate family member—such as a parent or grandparent—if that relative's name appeared in the relevant electoral roll. The form also requires applicants to specify the relationship with the family member whose details are being referenced.

Election officials have also advised voters who cannot locate historical details to submit the signed form with the available information instead of delaying submission.

Details Required While Filling the Form

Applicants should ensure that the following information is entered correctly:

  • Full name.

  • EPIC number.

  • Details of the eligible family member, if applicable.

  • Relationship with the family member.

  • State and district.

  • Assembly constituency.

  • Part number and serial number, wherever available.

  • Recent passport-size photograph.

  • Date of birth.

  • Mobile number.

  • Name and EPIC number of a parent, guardian, or spouse, where required.

Providing an Aadhaar number is optional and is not mandatory under the current instructions.

What Happens After Submission?

After completing the form, voters should sign it (or provide a thumb impression where applicable), mention the date, and submit it to their designated BLO. A receipt acknowledging submission should be collected and safely retained for future reference.

According to the Election Commission's schedule, the draft electoral roll will be published on August 5, 2026. If voters find any errors or omissions, they will be able to file claims or objections during the notified correction period before the publication of the final electoral roll.

Final Take

Delhi's Special Intensive Revision is an important voter verification exercise intended to keep the electoral roll accurate and updated. Even if your name was not included in the 2002 electoral roll, there are provisions that may allow you to complete the Enumeration Form using eligible family records where applicable. Voters are encouraged to submit their forms before July 29, 2026, verify the draft roll after its publication on August 5, and promptly report any discrepancies during the claims and objections period.
