Greater Noida: Big news has arrived for those waiting for metro connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida West. The Noida-Greater Noida West Metro Extension Project has received Public Investment Board (PIB) approval. The proposed corridor will run from Noida Sector 51 to Kisan Chowk, Sector 4, Greater Noida West. It will be approximately 7.5 kilometers long and will have five stations along this route.

The route will be built from Sector-51 to Kisan Chowk.

According to the revised plan, the metro will begin in Sector 51, pass through Sector 61, Sector 70, Sector 122, and Sector 123, and reach Kisan Chowk, Sector 4 of Greater Noida West. This will provide direct metro access for commuters from Noida to Greater Noida West. The estimated cost of the project is approximately ₹1,500 crore .

Millions of people will benefit

Greater Noida West is home to a large number of residential societies and rapidly developing areas. Currently, residents lack direct metro access. This new corridor will provide a better public transportation option for a large number of residents in the area. According to recent reports, the project is expected to directly benefit over two lakh people .

The launch of the metro is expected to reduce reliance on private vehicles and cabs. This could also help reduce daily road congestion and traffic congestion.

Jewar airport also helps in connectivity

A key feature of this project is its future connection to the RRTS network. The proposed connectivity will facilitate easy access from Greater Noida West to the Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport RRTS corridor. This will strengthen the public transportation options for travelers from Noida and Greater Noida West to reach the Noida International Airport at Jewar.

The project will now move forward towards construction.

The PIB’s approval is a significant step forward in advancing the project. Reports indicate that the project will then move forward with final approvals and construction procedures. Once completed, the corridor will connect Greater Noida West with Noida’s existing Aqua Line network. This is expected to strengthen the public transportation system in the entire region.
