BCCI ACSU in Action: T20 league is organized in every state of India. After the success of the Indian Premier League, almost every state has started its own new league and some of them have been very successful. Now the shadow of match fixing is looming over these state T20 leagues, regarding which BCCI’s anti-corruption unit has become very alert. They have an eye on all the franchise leagues and it is almost impossible for any match fixer or bookie to avoid this trap.
According to the report of Indian Express, there are reports of increasing incidents like match fixing in the State T20 League. For this reason, BCCI’s anti-corruption unit has become completely alert. In the report, BCCI source said, ‘Anti Corruption and Security Unit has received information that bookies and suspicious persons are trying to contact different players, team owners and organizers. This is against the rules. For this reason, for the first time the Anti Corruption and Security Unit also has its eyes on the State T20 League. Earlier this unit used to keep an eye only on IPL, Test and main matches.
A few days ago, news came out that a player in the Tamil Nadu Premier League was caught messaging his girlfriend during a match. For this reason, BCCI’s anti-corruption unit took strict action against him. Earlier there was talk of banning the player for 2 years but then the player was released after imposing a fine of Rs 1 lakh. The name of that player from Tamil Nadu was not revealed.
It has been told in the report that BCCI’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit is keeping an eye not only on the matches but also on the people the players and officials are meeting in the hotel after the match. It is being told that some suspicious activities were seen in the last season of TNPL, due to which BCCI has now increased the strictness. The Anti Corruption Unit has its eyes not just on TNPL but on all the leagues.
