Despite the difficult challenges of monsoon in Uttarakhand, Chardham Yatra continues uninterrupted. Within 125 days of this Yatra period, the number of visitors has crossed 48 lakhs. This figure is 05 lakh 22 thousand more than last year. Yamunotri Dham Yatra has created a new record. For the first time, the number of devotees here has reached more than 06 lakh 68 thousand. Earlier in the year 2025, 06 lakh 44 thousand 637 devotees had come to see Mother Yamuna.


The journey was conducted with utmost caution and monitoring.


Due to the efficient yatra management of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chardham Yatra is setting new records every year. In view of the monsoon season, the yatra is being conducted with utmost caution and monitoring. The disaster management department in Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts to the Yatra has been kept in alert mode round the clock. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, all necessary steps have been taken keeping the safety of the devotees paramount. Keeping in view the weather patterns, the administration has also issued a special advisory for the pilgrims, but faith is also outweighing the weather.


22 thousand 634 more passengers arrived


This year, Char Dham Yatra started with the inauguration of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on 19th April. Till Friday, August 21, a total of 48 lakh 04 thousand 897 devotees have visited Chardham in the 125 days of this Yatra period, whereas in the same period in the last year 2025, 42 lakh 82 thousand 263 pilgrims had visited Chardham. Thus, compared to last year, 05 lakh 22 thousand 634 more passengers have arrived.


3 lakh 62 thousand 304 more passengers arrived


If we look at the total number of pilgrims so far in the four Dhams, 16 lakh 54 thousand 263 pilgrims have visited Badrinath, 14 lakh 65 thousand 370 in Kedarnath, 07 lakh 47 thousand 671 in Gangotri and 06 lakh 68 thousand 163 have visited Yamunotri Dham. Whereas 02 lakh 69 thousand 430 devotees have paid obeisance in Hemkunt Sahib. There is great enthusiasm among the devotees to have darshan of Lord Badrivishal. 03 lakh 62 thousand 304 more pilgrims have reached Badrinath than last year.

Security is the top priority of the government


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, safety of Chardham pilgrims is the top priority of the state government. For this, all necessary arrangements have been made for the safety and convenience of the devotees at all the four Dhams and Yatra halts. The journey is being conducted without any hindrance, but the journey is also being controlled in case of bad weather. DMs of all the districts to the yatra are also keeping a close watch on the arrangements.
