Lifestyle Desk:- Nowadays, the use of induction stove along with gas stove in the kitchen has also increased a lot. From quick heating of food to ease of cleaning, induction is convenient in many ways. But a little carelessness while cleaning its shiny and flat surface can prove costly. Improper cleaning can result in scratches on the surface of induction and can also dull its shine. If you want your induction to look like new for a long time, then it is very important to avoid some mistakes while cleaning.
Induction surfaces can become very hot immediately after cooking. In such a situation, avoid applying water or wet cloth without cooling it. Sudden temperature changes may cause damage to the surface. Before starting cleaning, turn off the induction, remove the plug and allow it to cool completely.
Seeing the dirt accumulated on the glass surface of induction, many people start using steel scrubbers or rough scrub pads. One should avoid doing this. Rough objects can cause fine scratches on the surface. Instead, use a soft microfiber cloth or a soft cleaning pad suitable for induction.
If milk, tea or any other thing has fallen and dried, do not use knife, scissors or any sharp object to remove it. This may cause deep scratches on the surface of the induction. Allow the grime to soften for a short time and then clean it gently with a soft cloth. If needed, a glass-cooktop cleaner recommended by the manufacturer can be used.
Pouring water or liquid cleaner directly on the surface is not a good way to clean induction. Excess liquid may reach the edges or around the control panel. Instead of pouring the cleaner directly onto the appliance, apply a small amount to a cloth and wipe the surface. After this, dry it thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
The use of baking soda is common in household cleaning, but rubbing the powder vigorously on the induction may not be good for its shiny surface. Before trying any DIY cleaning solution, consult the induction manufacturer's guidelines.
After spilling food on induction, do not leave it to dry for hours. After the stove cools down, clean the surface with a soft wet cloth and finally wipe it with a dry microfiber cloth. Also, while placing the utensils on induction, keep them lifted instead of pulling them. Dust or small particles present on the bottom of the utensil can cause friction between the surface and the utensil, increasing the chance of scratches.
Remember, the most important thing in cleaning induction is gentleness and proper timing. Allow the stove to cool first, avoid rough scrubbers and sharp objects, and use cleaning products according to manufacturer's instructions. Due to this, the shine of the induction surface can remain for a long time.
