Good news came for India in women's high jump also. Pooja Singh won the bronze medal with a jump of 1.84 meters. His performance was below his personal best but this leap proved enough to propel him to the podium at the Asian Games. In the men's 5000 meter race, Gulveer Singh won the bronze medal with a time of 13:32.75 minutes. This achievement was special for Gulveer because he completed a hat-trick of podium finishes by winning his third consecutive medal in these Asian Games.
