Hisar : Haryana is likely to see a change in weather from Oct 7 under the influence of two consecutive western disturbances , with light rain and thunderstorms expected in parts of the state.




The weather systems are likely to bring down temperatures, providing relief from the prevailing above-normal heat.




Madan Khichar , head of the agricultural meteorology department at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University , said day temperatures had remained 3-4°C above normal and night temperatures 2-3°C above normal over the past four-five days due to dry westerly winds.




The first western disturbance is likely to move towards the hills on Oct 7. Under its influence, northern Haryana may receive light rain, gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms from the night of Oct 7 to Oct 9. Other parts may see isolated drizzle.A second western disturbance is expected to affect the region from Oct 9. From Oct 10 to 12, most parts of the state may see partly cloudy skies, with isolated light rain, winds and thunderstorms.Khichar said the systems were likely to push the mercury down. After Oct 12, conditions are expected to turn dry again, with a shift in wind direction and the possibility of northwesterly winds.
