Travis Kelce's $5.35 million Ohio mansion has become the centre of another neighborhood dispute, this time over trees. The couple's plans to reshape the grounds of their Lake Erie estate have raised concerns about lake views, existing greenery and possible damage to an old shared sewer line. What may seem like a routine landscaping project has turned into a bigger challenge for the newlyweds, with local residents questioning how the changes could affect their own properties. The Bratenahl Architectural Review Board has also flagged a key issue, leaving the couple to revise their proposal before the next meeting.

Travis Kelce's Ohio mansion faces landscaping hurdlesThe dispute emerged during an October meeting of the Bratenahl Architectural Review Board, where residents questioned the couple's proposed tree additions at the rear of their property. According to Cleveland's 19 News , some neighbors worried that removing existing trees could change the landscape, while taller replacements might obstruct views of Lake Erie.

The proposed trees also exceeded Bratenahl's 10-foot height limit, creating another obstacle for the project. The board plans to revisit the matter on November 10, when a revised landscaping proposal is expected to receive further review.

The concerns extend beyond appearance. Residents have also raised questions about whether new trees could damage a shared sewer line that has reportedly served the area for about a century. That issue could prove especially important because repairs to ageing underground infrastructure can affect multiple properties.

For Swift and Kelce, the challenge is balancing their plans for privacy and landscaping with local rules and the interests of their neighbors. The board's next meeting should offer a clearer picture of whether the revised proposal addresses those concerns.

Ohio mansion security measures add to neighborhood tensionsThe landscaping disagreement follows earlier reports about security measures at the couple's lakefront estate. In September, Page Six reported that an alarm system had been installed to warn people who approached the property too closely.

One neighbor described the experience to the publication, saying, “A neighbor approached the house and got a voice warning about not passing onto the property after getting too close to the house,”

The estate sits at 12725 Lake Shore Boulevard, east of Cleveland, placing Kelce close to the area where he grew up. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has long-standing connections to Ohio, including his college football years at the University of Cincinnati .

The property is also one part of the couple's wider real estate picture. Swift owns homes in several states, including New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee and California. Kelce, meanwhile, maintains a multimillion-dollar home near Kansas City.

For now, the immediate question is whether the couple can secure approval for their landscaping plans without prolonging the dispute. With the November 10 meeting approaching, the revised proposal will be closely watched by residents and anyone following the couple's latest property controversy.
