President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday announced GOP member of the Federal Communications Commission, lawyer Brendan Carr, as the next chair of the FCC. The 45-year-old was appointed as a FCC member by in 2017 by Trump. Carr is married to Machalagh Carr, a strategic counselor who previously served as the chief of staff to speaker, Kevin McCarthy."I am pleased to announce that Commissioner Brendan Carr will be Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)," Donald Trump said on Sunday in a statement shared across social media. Who Is Machalagh Carr?Machalagh Carr professionally describes herself as a strategic counselor with over 12 years experience of working in both the government and the private sector. She famously served as the Chief of Staff to US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy staring in June 2023. Before her role at the Speaker's office, she served as General Counsel for the Speaker and the office of a GOP House Representative. Previously, she worked in various capacities at multiple house committees. She is married to Brendan Carr and they have three sons.
