Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Devdutt Padikkal revealed the emotions he went through after joining another franchise in the IPL when he was just 21 years old. After getting released by RCB in 2022, he was a 'little uncomfortable' playing with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and find his form back.
The player has struggled in the league for many years but somehow managed to play in all the seasons since his debut in 2021. Now, he is back to his former team, where he started his IPL career from. This season, he has been in incredible form, batting alongside , Phil Salt, and Rajat Patidar.
"It’s challenging when you are not settled on any side. As a 21-year-old, I was in RCB and when I made that move to another franchise, it was a little uncomfortable, obviously. I wasn’t very confident about myself and it took me three-four years to find what I am as a cricketer in the IPL. It’s not that easy. You try your hardest, but at times it just doesn’t work," said Padikkal at the post-match press conference.

Batting with Virat is a pleasure: PadikkalPadikkal also expressed his emotions about batting with Virat Kohli this season. They have had brilliant partnerships, going after the bowlers as per the game's demand. He praised Kohli and his dedication to the game. Kohli has been amazing form in IPL 2025 and is the leading run-scorer as well.
"Coming into this season, I had to work hard. I knew there were things that I needed to improve on. There were lots of aspects of the game that I wasn’t up to the mark I felt in the last year. Batting with Virat is a pleasure. He’s done this over and over again for so many years so that’s the level of consistency that you aim for as a young cricketer playing the IPL," added Padikkal.
