BJP MLA Nanar Nagendran from Tirunelveli constituency in Tamil Nadu filed his nomination papers to contest the election of the party president on Friday (April 11).

The party said that his name was proposed by the current party chief K. Annamalai, Union Minister L Murugan, former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and party MLA and Mahila Morcha President Fenthi Srinivasan. After Annamalai, Nagendran is likely to be declared a new state president.
